What About Bob?

Bob's racing name was Crazyboybob... but there's nothing crazy about him. Except his ears! (More on that in a minute.)

Bob is a sweet, affectionate dog who is also a very easy pet!
Here's a little Q&A on the Bobster:

How is Bob on a leash?
Very good! Bob is a little bouncy the first few minutes he gets outside, but then he settles down. He will happily do all of his business on a leash--and quickly--which is a big plus! We see other dogs, cats and humans on our walks every day, and Bob minds his manners. Sometimes he REALLY wants to visit with them--but if time doesn't allow, a simple "this way" will keep him following me and not that cute little Yorkie.
Bob's even seen a rabbit several times--and didn't go bananas. He was fascinated--but stayed calm.

Does Bob like his crate?
Yes! Say the word "crate" and in he goes! He doesn't even need to be bribed or lured. (Such a good boy.)

Is he scared of storms?
Nope! Bob can handle it.

How is he around the house?
Bob hasn't had any accidents in his crate or in the house. He hasn't tried to get on any furniture, or done any counter-surfing. (Although the dogs aren't allowed in my kitchen anyway.) Bob hasn't gone looking for trouble...he's happy just to relax on his bed, and play with stuffies. Last night, he raided the toy box and got out five squeaky toys all at once!

Does he bark?
Sometimes he does--a little. If he sees someone who looks "suspicious," he'll give a quiet little "woof woof" as if to say, "You seem OK--but just in case, I'm keeping my eye on you."

How's Bob's personality?
Sweet and low key! He's a very affectionate dog, but doesn't demand attention. He's laid back, but playful, too. If you are in the mood to play, toss a stuffie and he'll pounce. Want to kick back and watch tv? Bob will chill while you chill.

Is he smart?
Of course! He's learned the boundaries/rules-of-the-house fast, which shows he pays attention and is eager to please.

What's with those highly talented ears?
I will post a pic when I can, but you should know that Bob has some of the most talented ears you'll ever see. He can move them around like satellite dishes... one might be vertical straight up, the other horizonal and pointing to the right. Or both might on top of his head like a crown. It all depends on his mood at any given moment. Not all greyhounds have such gifted ears--more proof that Bob is a special dude.

RECAP:
Bob is cool. He needs a loving home, and you need a loving dog.

Stay tuned for more!

  1. How's Bob with other big dogs?? I'm not sure how the process works, but is it possible to have a meet and greet with our pup??

  2. Bob does well with large dogs. The process works like this:
You fill out an application and send it in. We set up a homevisit and see how the greyhound/s do with your family. (usually we bring 3 hounds to the homevisit - no you do not have to adopt all three ;-) ).
Often the foster homes will bring the foster dogs out to one of the Meet & Greets that we have every week - You could come on out to one of them with your dog.
